my lifeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I am feeling very melancholy.

  1. I have no blog readers (except for my brother, but he doesn't count)
  2. I cannot find my Spanish book, so I cannot do my homework
  3. No one can send me the pages, because NO ONE HAS A STUPID FAX MACHINE
  4. I have to write an essay, however....
  5. ....I forgot both the book I was supposed to do an essay on, AND my literature folder, which has my essay prep junk in it
  6. I gained 8 pounds! THE FREAKING CHERRY ON MY SUNDAE OF PATHETIC SELF PITY.

Les Misérables= me and my sundae

Melancholy.

I have no readers.

Hmmm.

I have to sing a song for music (performing arts class) on Wednesday. What should I sing???

I'm thinking:
  • The Hill by Marketa Irglova
  • The Fear You Won't Fall by Joshua Radin
  • Older Chests by Damien Rice
  • 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon
  • Choux Pastry Heart or Like A Star by Corinne Bailey Rae
  • Far Far by Yael Naim
Or something else. Ha. Last Wednesday, we had our music midterm. Us students had to sing either Love Me Tender or Glory of Love, and our music teacher judged, ahem...I mean GRADED us on our pitch, tone, singing ability, etc....if we sang well enough, we passed to the next level (a.k.a. singing the songs you WANT to sing, singing in groups, etc....) I sang Love Me Tender. I passed to the next level, and Mr. Gerhold (our music teacher) said I was great but he wants me to hold my notes a little longer so I can demonstrate my "wonderful vibrato."

I wanted to say, "Mr. Gerhold! This so called "vibrato" you heard was simply me SHAKING. Why was I having a 9.2 earthquake in my body? Oh, no reason except that, oh, maybe, um....I WAS TERRIFIED. Of singing. In front of my air-head classmates."

So. yeah. now you know. :)

A kind of poemish, proseish thing for you:

For so long, I've been afraid.
Afriad to fill these pages with anything but
Perfection.
The perfect words, flawless rhymes, and even immaculate grammar.
But that ends NOW.
Because I've learned that sometimes,
the right words are hidden
Beneath, in between, and occasionally a little bit the side of the imperfections.
And sometimes, it takes the countless hours upon hours of crossing out words, phrases, and whole lines to find the true essence of what you're feeling so strongly in your poor, poet's heart.
And sometimes you have to cross some stuff out so you can learn to read between the lines.
And guess what?
It's okay to feel the way you do when youwrite something that is just to inexplicably perfect that it makes you want to cry and beat your chest in triumph at the same time.
It's okay.
----------------------

I wrote that on January 19, 2008. I started at 11:46 PM and ended at 12:00 AM.
For some odd reason, next to where I put the date and time and stuff, I put:
"I've had a breakthrough!"
"Call the Washington Post, m'dear."

I'm kind of funny sometimes. :)

Big day.

Three posts in one day....wow!
Today, I....
  • found a suitable blog title
  • PA'ed (production assisted) on the set of my dad's short
  • made a few awesome Mexican posters for said short
  • got really tired
  • ate a truckload of junk
  • felt happy

My mom and I got back from the set of my dad's short film like, ten minutes ago.
I am so tired. Being a PA (production assistant) is exhausting.
BUT! Watching the actors....um...act....is really cool! I can't WAIT to go back tomorrow.
wheeeeeee. movie making. funfunfunfun.
however. I am exhausted. and a little wiped out. and also sleepy.

goodnight.

The First Poem

The first poem to be posted on this blog! WHOA!

Haughty, mocking
Eyes are locking
Into a deadly bind

Tocking, tocking
People gawking
The great, grand clock unwinds

Here's one from me!

Hey everybody. Here's a drawing. Sorry it's upside down- my new sketchbook is rather difficult.

I'm sorry, everyone.

Hey people. Soooo sorry I haven't been posting. I've been super busy. By dad's side of the family came in for Thanksgiving, and I had to "supervise" my 5 and 8 year old cousins. Here's a drawing my cousin Reanna (the 8-year-old) drew for me.

Awwwwww.

Sketch page #1 + THUMB!!!

Well, occasionally I draw a lot of little doodles on one page. I callz 'em sketch pages. Original name, I know. Today, we have handymen over. They fixing things- being handy. My mom and I are going to rearrange my room next week while my brother starts school. My room is kind of boring right now, so....yah. I just painted my thumb w/ white-out. here's a pic! (notice how I've subtly disguised my identity- OoOoOoOoOh! aren't I a clever one? really, all I did was pull my shirt over my head. :D)

LOL (ell-oh-ell)/OMG (oh-em-gee)

I didn't really know what I was doing for this one. I kind of drew whatever. I know that's really of vague and a lot of people are thinking (with sarcasm) "Great, Hannah! That was very specific. That's incredibly helpful." but whatever.
here 'tiz. HEY GUESS WHAT I LEARNED tODAY???? goes.it is a domain name. Me tinks iz German.

for my bro!

Because my brother is BEGGING me to post this, here's "I'm a Little Self-Hating Emo Teapot, Short and Stout!" I had to redraw this one, b/c in the original drawing, the writing was so sloppy even I could barely read it. I hope this is an improvement. We (my mom and I) might
rearrange my room a little today. We've been dying to do it all summer, and today we have nothing to do. Rene's working on some school project that was assigned over the summer. Poor him. :'(

Hah. I posted this without even uploading the comic. How sad. However, thanks to my good friend the "Edit" button, I can put it in! here 'tis! It's still a little sloppy, and you'll have to rotate it. MORE WORK FOR YOU, LESS FOR ME. Ahh, the little joys in life. :D

'allo!

Hello readers. In honor of this drawing (cunningly titled "French Man") I'm going to talk about -that's right- FRANCH!! ha. I just misspelled France, but I like it (it has character) so I'll keep it.
(cue corny, informational video music)
France & Me (or, rather, France and I)
a.k.a. Things I do that relate to France.....sort of
- I often talk in an overdone French accent. Why? Well, it's fun! Oi, monsiuer!
- I think French bread is pretty wicked awesome. (from the dictionary: delectable, mouthwatering, appetizing, tasty, flavorful, toothsome, palatable; succulent, luscious; informal scrumptious, delish, yummy, finger-licking, nummy, lip-smacking, melt-in-your-mouth)
- Um.... yep. that's it. :(
Don't you love my labeling skillz? In the drawing, I mean. I labelez everytink! I got da skillz tuh pay da billz, yo. Fo' shizzle. Hardy har har har.
OH! that reminds me! I've been dying to post a drawing of mine. I couldn't before b/c it has a lot of writing and I didn't want to rewrite/redraw it backwards but now our scanner's fixed and- DEEP VIRTUAL BREATH- I can. So I'll do that one too. This was the inspiration for "I Ain't Got No Teef." WARNING- this is a random one.

YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! + I ain't got no teef

Good news, readers! My wonderful, amazing and completely extraordinary dad fixed our scanner!!! This means I can give you more pictures, b/c most of my sketches have words in them, and with the web cam I had to redraw all of my doodles w/ the word backwards just so you, my dear readers, could.....well.....read them. But now I don't have to do that. This is very pleasing, and now (with much pleasure), I present to you: "I AIN'T GOT NO TEEF."

Rock Love

here's another one :) I have this ni m sketchbook, but our webcam takes pictures as if it's a mirror, so I had to redraw this one with all of the lettering backwards. It's actually not that hard, and kinda fun!

well, today I go to the dentist. (cue clichéd but ominous background music) I actually don't really have anything to worry about. I've never had any cavities, and this is just to clean up my teeth. It's very very very cold in the dentist's office, so I'm bringing a jacket. Or two.

yours truly, falsely, forever, and only sometimes,
hannah

Home at last!

Hey everybody!!
Guess what- I'm home! finally!!!! Anywayz, it's really hot here- which is kind of a relief after freeeeeezing New Zealand. :) But in a way, it also kind of sucks. Thank God for air conditioning.

but what I'm reeeeaaally posting about is the fact that our scanner/printer/copier is broken @ the moment, so I can't upload anything right now. But I'm thinking of just taking some photos of my drawings as a temporary fix...I think I will. :) so expect those soon! see ya!

luv,
